Hello FODMAPers and Friends,
I thought it was time to do a give-a-way! I did not write this book but provided the foreward for the Low FODMAP 28 Day Food Plan. I really have enjoyed making some of the recipes in this cookbook. My personal favorite…low FODMAP Breakfast Sausage. 🙂 I never realized how easy it is to make sausage patties. Soooo good! And…the low FODMAP sausages taste great in the Breakfast Burritos with Eggs, Sausage and Peppers recipe…another winner!
For a chance to win, just leave a comment sharing your favorite low FODMAP recipe resource(s)! Or link to your favorite low FODMAP recipe online! Your tips can be enjoyed by all low FODMAP diet followers!
My latest low FODMAP, SIBO and Gut Microbiome conference in Boston is under 2 weeks away and we have just 10 seats left! For dietitians interested in learning more about digestive health nutrition, this seminar is for you. Bill Chey, MD will be sharing the latest on how food can exacerbate gut symptoms and Mark Pimentel’s pre-recorded interview (w/me) will be shown discussing the latest on small intestinal bacterial overgrowth–with a particular focus on methane positive treatment.

If it is Kate approved, it is good enough for me. Would love to have it. Thank you.
Andy B. H.
Would love to have this new book to add to my resources. Thanks.

I modiify some traditional recipes to fit my needs, but it is especially nice to cook with recipes that are already low FODMAP. Your blog is a great resource & I really like your choco-nutty granola.

This looks like a great resource that would be great to refer to as a hard copy (I get most of my recipes online). In addition to your recipes, I’ve found a few, great low-FODMAP recipes on this site http://www.mygutfeeling.eu/
Thanks for the consideration and thank you for all that you do!
Ann

Karen Ste Marie
Well, you’re my best source of information, of course. I am a newbie on Fodmap and find your blog very informative. Thank you.
Jennifer
I love reading Kate’s blog and her helpful shopping guides. The Monash App is super helpful as well. For the most part I have been making all my favorite recipes from before and just modifying them to remove high fodmap ingredients, however I want to get more recipes and this cook book would be a great start. Because the super bowl just happened I will share a great Buffalo Wing Sauce recipe I found because I LOVE wings. I used Earth Balance spread instead of butter because I also have a dairy allergy but it was still delic!
Kerry
I use your recipes and the fodmap app on the iPhone. These recipes have been a lifesaver after 15 years of struggling with chronic stomach problems. I was so glad my doctor recommended it.
katescarlata

Becasue I have multiple food intolerances, I now cook nearly all of my meals at home. This meant that I was no longer able to enjoy my favorite dishes at our local Greek restaurant. SO thankful for your beautiful site and all of these meals that I can eat!
Vicki Hollander
Have enlisted my family-myself-my daughter-my father! sharing word of your site & recipes…
Wonderful-thank you for your work!
VanK
I personally like to look through Pinterest for recipes that sound good, then figure out how to modify them for low FODMAP… use garlic olive oil in lieu of garlic, green onions in lieu of onions (because both garlic and onions seem to be in EVERY recipe), rice flour, gluten free pasta, etc. It can get hard but it helps me feel like I’m eating “normally”, and happily for my gut.
The Monash University app on the phone definitely comes in handy at the grocery store though, it helps remind me what is safe when shopping.
katescarlata
Thanks for bringing up the Monash app–it is such a great resource. I still use the app on a daily basis!
Valerie Yasner
My favorite Low Fodmap resource for recipes and tips is YOU Kate Scarlatta!!!

I would love this new resource. In addition to Kate Scarlata’s blog, I also like to use glutenfree goddess’ food blog and I will just search her recipes for ones that are low FODMAP as well. I also read alot of regular food blogs like Food52 and epicurious and keep recipes that are naturally low FODMAP or make a few tweaks to make it so. Thanks!
Lisa P
I usually just google the type of recipe plus low FODMAP.
Linda
I just made this last night: http://www.ibssano.com/low_fodmap_recipe_chicken_gumbo.html

My favorite resource is your blog! I’ve struggled with IBS since for 21 years and was just now introduced to the low FODMAPS diet. This is week one, and I’m praying it will help. I’ve tried just about everything up to this point. Went grocery shopping last night and made your Pad Thai. Delicious! Can’t wait to try several of your other recipes this week.
katescarlata
Oh..so glad to hear you made the Pad Thai..that is one of my favorite dishes! Just remember Kaleigh–that diet is often only a piece of the pie–in other words, we also need to work on getting the GI tract to work better–so be sure to work with a supportive and smart GI doc too!
Joy
I always enjoy your recipes. I’ve also tried several that I’ve found on various Pinterest boards. Would love some new recipes to try.
Brenda

Favorite is a sweets recipe : frosted biscotti fround on Kate’s website (via her friend Meg).
This website is such a Godsend. My college daughter is fairly newly diagnosed with
IBS, and low fodmaps are helping! The recipe book would really help her cook while away at school.
Jean
I have received a list of foods from my HMO dietitian. The book would be extremely helpful.
cheryl s
I mostly use regular recipes that I find online or in books/magazines and then modify the ingredient list to be low fodmap. I really like your website for the info provided and updates on foods.
Alleigh
Hi! I’ve only been doing the low-FODMAP diet for about 2 1/2 months, so I’m still experimenting with recipes, although I did just make a homemade ice cream sandwich with gluten-free chocolate chip cookies and lactose free ice cream that were a huge hit for my husband’s birthday. I blogged about it here: http://aglassafterwork.com/blog/?p=3443.
As for resources, you, Alana (@ A Little Bit Yummy http://www.alittlebityummy.com/), and Emma (@ She Can’t Eat What http://www.shecanteatwhat.com/) have been my go-to resources for recipes and low-FODMAP diet help.
katescarlata
Great shares…thanks Alleigh!

Sarah Britton of My New Roots!
http://www.mynewroots.org/site/
As far as I know, she doesn’t specifically reference FODMAPs, but many of her recipes are FODMAP free without modifications!
Melissa
I am very new to the low FODMAP world and after doing research of various websites, I find yours to be the best and most useful. It is the only FODMAP related website I have on my favorites list on my iPhone!
Jenna Stic
Honestly, my favorite resource is your blog! I cannot tell you how much your recipes have helped me. My go-to is the buffalo chicken meatball recipe. People beg me to bring it to get-togethers. I’ve probably made 20-30 of your recipes and each one has been amazing. This past weekend I made the banana bread brownies… To die for!! I also follow quite a few people on Instagram… It’s a great quick way to see some new recipes. I learned how to make low fodmap baked oatmeal from @fodmapfriends on Instagram.
Janet Rebidue
I found some good recipes in “Eating for IBS” by Heather Van Vorous. Not all the recipes are low-fodmap but there are some good ones.

Michele
My favorite resources are your blog and the 21 Tummy book.
Wendy
I’d love the book. My favorite resources are, the 21 Day Tummy duo…book and cook book. Your blog, and the blog A Little bit Yummy.
Also find the Monash blog very valuable.
Sandy
Finally found a delicious vegetable soup recipe – http://cooklowfodmap.com/low-fodmap-minestrone-soup/. You have to convert the amounts, and I use 4 slices of bacon with a smaller can of tomatoes (I think it’s 14 oz.). It is very adaptable for substituting ingredients and my favorite so far has been using chopped kale instead of zucchini. It is more like a stew with lots of vegetables. Overall, my best source of recipes has been Facebook and blogs, especially this one!
DeeDee
The Monash app really helps with shopping and eating out. I get ideas and recipes from you, Kate, from your blog and Instagram. Thanks so much for the support and encouragement. The low FODMAP book would be very helpful.
Diane
I agree with everyone, I love this blog! I’m on a more restricted diet than FODMAP (SIBO), but your recipes are always a good start. I don’t do recipes so much as I just fool around in the kitchen, but here are my favorite subs:
-Scallions for onion
-Currants for raisins
And coconut and peanut products foreverrrr!
Rhoda
My new go-to low FODMAP meal is cutting long strands of a zucchini with my vegetable peeler and sautéing them in coconut oil and salt until soft. Once cooked, I add a tablespoon basil pesto (basil, EVOO, & salt) to the zucchini and put in a pasta bowl. I add more coconut oil to my skillet and saute wild cod (sprinkled with salt) 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked through and a nice golden color starts to show. I place the cod on top of the zucchini and add a teaspoon of basil on top of the cod. It is delicious!
katescarlata
Yum. Sounds great!
Heather
I like Monash University’s app (and of course all of Ms. Scarlata’s resources.) They added a bunch of recipes w/ an update a while back, and it’s really handy to have all of that right in my phone.
Whitney
I just found out about the low FODMAP diet on Sunday, and it’s already making me feel so much better! I’d love to learn about all the recipes I can!
A recipe I found is banana and egg pancakes- just 2 ingredients! Here’s a link to it: http://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-make-2-ingredient-banana-pancakes-cooking-lessons-from-the-kitchn-218658

At first, I was just excited about this giveaway opportunity. But THEN, I started reading everyone’s helpful comments, and now I’m super excited to check out all these new resources. Total score! My doc recommended the FODMAP diet to met yesterday, after years of IBS — thank you, Google, for leading me to your blog, Kate! I’m now following you via all channels. Your site is my only resource at the moment, but hope to find more in the future.
katescarlata
I hear ya, Madeline. There have been so many fabulous suggestions from everyone. I am psyched. I made the quinoa fried rice Gwen ^ suggested tonight for dinner…and it was AWESOME!! We all can learn from one another!
Gwen
I would love to win the cookbook. I am including a link for “quinoa fried rice” the recipe is only a jumping off point I leave out the onion, garlic and peas. I just substitute in veggies I can eat. http://www.cookingforkeeps.com/2013/03/27/quinoa-fried-rice/
Elizabeth
My favorite book is IBS free recipes for the whole family- a collaboration by Rothstein, Catsos, and Warman. The reason I bought the book, however, was because my pediatric GI doc wrote the forword! Thanks for getting me through college Dr Bousvaros 🙂 And Thanks for the chance at a give away Kate!

I’m on round 2 of the low FODMAP diet. It worked really well for me right up until a week after I started re-introducing foods…I think now that I’m being treated for SIBO, reintroduction will go much better this next time around.
I find the Monash blog (and app) to be great resources, but my favorite recipe is this one: https://blog.katescarlata.com/2015/09/04/salmon-with-maple-mustard-and-dill/
It’s actually very similar to one I’ve always made and it helped me realize that perhaps this low fodmap diet isn’t nearly as difficult as I was making it out to be in my head. Also, it’s delicious.
Cynthia
One of my favorite simple recipes: http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/24740/parsley+and+quinoa+salad?ref=collections,low-fodmap-diet-recipes

I use your website on a regular basis and just recently discovered http://www.strandsofmylife.com/recipes/. My 11 year old son was diagnosed with SIBO last year as well as several allergies like dairy, soy, wheat, peanuts and a bunch of other things so I really need to watch what I am making.
Erin
