This post will be short and sweet as I am heading out on vacation! Yay me!
This week I developed an infection that worried my doctor and ended up being sent to the hospital for a CAT Scan and multiple doctor’s appointments. It’s time like these that I realize how precious and important it is to have good health.
When your doctor calls and is worried….it is not too reassuring and I got myself and my poor husband Russ all worked up.
Well….the GOOD news is I don’t have an incurable disease and a bit of advil and some antibiotics should get me back on track. But somedays you get a gentle tap on the shoulder to remind you that life is fragile and you really gotta make the most of every day!
So…I am counting my blessings and counting them twice….
I am so grateful for my AWESOME husband…
that helped me get through this week. I think I took at least 2 years off his life this week but I am going to work real hard to put them back. 🙂
I was so grateful for big WET kisses from the cutest chocolate lab that I know and love, LUCY. What is it about an animal that makes you feel so nurtured when you feel like your world is falling out from under you? I am grateful that my son Brennan is a naturalist and provided a safe haven for 3 caterpillars that transformed into beautiful monarch butterflies.
Of course, I am grateful for so much more but I won’t bore you too much with those details. 🙂
So enjoy the week ahead and remember to take time to smell the flowers… (a beautiful bouquet from my farm share program!)
focus on what is going right in your life rather than what might not be, and remember to be grateful and gracious to those who make your life sweeter.

Wow! Same thing happened to me this week. At least the infection part and the visiting at least one medical practitioner every day. They put me on the same treatment — antibiotics & Advil!! It hasn’t taken care of the problem for me though. 🙁 So next week might call for imaging, etc. My doctors have been really caring and doing everything in their power not to scare this twenty-something. But, ask any of my friends; I’m over here freaking out!!! So glad that you had family right there for you. 🙂
