So happy to see more options for low- fodmappers. I started this journey over a year and a half ago. It was not easy but now it is a way of life and the benefits out weigh the hassles :)

We've already had Thanksgiving here in Canada! My favourite tradition is coming together with my family to share a meal, and how my mother, who does the cooking, always checks in with me to see what I can and can't eat (I have IBS, was vegan for a while, have explored a number of different dietary solutions) and accommodates her meal plan to include me! It's so sweet.

MIkaela, small amounts of canned pumpkin is low FODMAP--up to 1/4 cup per serving is 'green lighted' in the Monash U low FODMAP app. I kept the amount per serving--under the limit!

Hi Cathy, I too, love lighting candles and relaxing in the evening--especially after a long day. Helps me settle down and chill out. :)

My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is the gathering at my mom's house with family I might see once a year. It's the only time we're all together usually, so it's special. My daughter and I help my mom cook, and get everything ready.
My favorite part of Thanksgiving is eating turnip. Yes, turnip..... For some reason we don't eat it any other time of year and almost everyone who comes to dinner loves it! Because our grown children have extended families, we don't get to see them all at dinnertime. But...they come later in the day for leftovers! It works out great because my husband and I get to enjoy each family, one at a time.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Each Thanksgiving since getting married my husband and I have smoked turkey legs instead of roasting a whole turkey. It's caveman-style, and love our messy, quirky tradition. (Bonus: Because we buy and break down a whole turkey to get the legs, we have loads of leftover meat in different portions, and make quarts and quarts of homemade turkey stock!)
