I would allow Pamela's lemon shortbread cookies--with a child I would probably limit to one cookie per sitting... maybe 2 in an adult. Ingredients: Flour Base (Brown Rice Flour, White Rice Flour, Tapioca Starch, Sweet Rice Flour, Xanthan Gum); Butter (salted); Organic Natural Evaporated Cane Sugar; Tapioca Starch; Gluten-free Natural Lemon Flavor (contains Non-GMO soy oil); Citric Acid; Lemon Oil; Xanthan Gum.
NO obvious FODMAP red flags here!

I am starting my 8 year old daughter on the FODMAP diet. She has been on SCD for about 3 months. I am having a hard time retraining myself on what foods are allowed and not allowed on the diet. She is excited about getting to eat Gluten free bread and sweets. Can you tell me if Pamela's lemon shortbread cookies are FODMAP friendly or not? Thank you,

Rice malt syrup is approved on the low FODMAP diet. Brown rice syrups can vary--some have excess fructose and would not be allowed but not all brown rice syrups should pose a problem--and many are well tolerated by my clients. Stevia, appears to be well tolerated as well...but I have not see data on this.
