Glutamine can be helpful for some but I do encourage you to discuss its use with your doctor--it can be contraindicated in some people depending on past medical history such as colon cancer. Omega 3 fatty acids may be helpful as an anti-inflammaotory. Checking for other nutritional deficiencies is equally important-Vitamin D, B12, folate, iron.

Hello Kate, thank you for the great information you provide. I have struggled with IBS symptoms for 7 years and my own recent discovery of FODMAP has greatly improved my symptoms. I would like to know if you recommend any other supplements with probiotics to help heal. I have been reading about the benefits of taking glutamine. Is there any other supplement to heal the intestine?
Grateful for your website,
Allison
